Law of Attraction.
If you’ve been in the coaching world for even a minute, you’ve definitely heard the term.
First made popular by the Jack Canfield and Rhonda Byrne book, The Secret, all the way back in 2006 (which makes it practically ancient in the coaching world ;) ), this book basically changed my life – and our industry – forever.
When I first heard the title, I was all, “WHAT is the Law of Attraction?” But honestly, after just a few pages on all about how people had all of their big dreams manifested, faster than thought possible, I was hooked.
But the Law of Attraction book isn’t the only Law of Attraction tool out there.
And in fact, the book by itself can be a little misleading. If you take it at face value, it sort of sounds like all the Law of Attraction requires, well, a whole lot of nothing. Like all you have to do is sit on a cute meditation cushion, cut out photos of things you love (hello red-bottom shoes and Chanel bags), and wait for it all to show up in your life. Easy, peasy!!
But that’s actually not the case. Like, at all.
There’s this whole other part to manifesting that nobody talks about nearly enough: You also need to FEEL as if what you want is ALREADY YOURS.
Honestly, I always struggled with that part. I always struggled with adding emotions to my manifestation rituals.
I never felt "as if.” I got discouraged way too often. I “quit” more times than I care to admit. I even blew up and spewed curse words over my inability to “manifest” (hey, I'm not perfect – nor do I ever want to be!). BUT...what drove me REALLY crazy is that it seemed like everybody else just GOT it.
Whenever I’d think something like, "Okay, all this manifestation/visualization c$%p obviously doesn't work for me" I’d immediately see a colleague posting on Facebook like, “I manifested another $50k month!” Aaaand then, I was back again, overtaken by the FOMO monster.
So, every time, I got back to it. I went around and around – trying #allthethings, feeling discouraged, cursing the LoA as a bunch of bologna, saying I was done, then jumping right back into the manifestation game as soon as I’d see someone else posting/talking about some crazy cool thing they manifested.
Girl, the struggle was real!
Until... I discovered the way to use the Law of Attraction that actually WORKED, that is ;) So, if right now you’re struggling to attract what you want….
...Even though you’re saying your affirmations religiously.
...Even though you’ve got a vision board bigger than a house plastered to your wall.
...And, even though you try extra hard to focus on what you do want and NOT on what you don’t.
...I’ve got your back.
